Systems Engineer

A Brief Overview The Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and applications to ensure reliable and secure operations. This role installs, configures, tests, monitors, and maintains operating systems, application software, and system management tools. The Systems Engineer I also provides technical support by managing and responding to service requests through the Help Desk, including phone, voicemail, email, and ticketing system inquiries, while ensuring timely resolution of user issues and system-related incidents. What You Will Do Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve computer issues including hardware, software applications, basic networking, printers, etc.Be single point of contact throughout the lifecycle of a ticket; including research and communication of status to usersWorking with IT Teams to resolve/escalate problemsProvide basic and extended support for software, hardware, peripherals, and network accessPerform updates and preventive maintenance on all System and Network componentsResearch various problems to provide appropriate responses to end users, ability to perform basic and advanced troubleshooting and assist users through proceduresMonitor Helpdesk queue (phone, voicemail, e-mail and ticketing system) for support requestsProvide administration of accounts and passwordsContribute to the knowledgebaseEnforce and ensure group wide server workplace hardware standards, and operating system and software standards defined by Corporate IT and according to best practicesEvaluate and implement global IT infrastructure componentsVendor and 3rd party management in respect to service deliveryEnsure adequate level of GMP CFR Part 11 compliance as per organization guidelinesManage and execute small and midsize IT projectsEnsure help desk quality standards and availability as per Global ITEnsure problem management and continuous optimization of IT infrastructure related servicesContinuous improvement of the existing infrastructureEnsure a positive safety culture is sustainedEnsure safety and environmental policies are adhered to in order to protect the health and safety of employees, visitors, contractors, and the communityDocument and analyze informationFlexibility with work shift - after hours support and on call schedule Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline1+ years’ experience in systems engineering or 5-6 years' experience as a systems administrator in a multi-site environmentAbility to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environmentAbility to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues.Proven working experience in managing and administrating virtual hosting environments, disk storage systems and Microsoft Client and Server environmentsDetail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problemsAbility to work independently and manage one’s timeCommunicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environmentExcellent written and oral communication skills Base Hourly Range: Engineer I: $35.54 - $48.96Engineer II: $42.58 - $58.55 Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
