Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking multiple Systems Engineers to contribute to the full life cycle systems engineering process for a cutting-edge digital ground station supporting US Navy communication missions. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining systems to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and network components, optimizing system performance and reliability.

This hybrid role requires two days per week onsite in Warrenton, VA, with the first 1-2 months being onsite daily for training. Located in the Vint Hill technology park, the area offers amenities such as a brewery, winery, and CrossFit facilities. The team is composed of 13 direct members and 25-30 including subcontractors, providing a dynamic and collaborative work environment. The company practices a flexible work model, paying by the actual hours worked, and encourages a fun culture with a modern approach to project execution using open-source technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex systems architecture based on technical requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Evaluate and select suitable hardware, software, and network components for system implementation.
• Support installation and configuration of system hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
• Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth and efficient system functionality.
