About the role

This 12-month contract position in Mossville (Peoria), Illinois focuses on defining requirements and architecture for autonomous machine systems. The System Integration Engineer will develop system integration requirements for multiple systems within an autonomous machine, particularly within the Loading, Dozing & Compaction Application Team. The role involves working with various onboard electronic systems, processes, and people interactions, requiring strong attention to detail and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply new autonomous system solutions and technologies on semi or fully autonomous systems
• Decompose customer requirements into system-level (L6) requirements, including both hardware and software
• Manage system-level requirements and related features in DevOps
• Collaborate with Machine System teams (L6) to determine optimal delivery of machine autonomous features, including component selection and system integration
• Ensure clear documentation and traceability
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Surface Loading Machine Autonomous Solutions
• Communicate system readiness and technical risk to stakeholders

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer supporting product development teams for autonomous machines, including software and hardware integration
• Experience collaborating with systems integration and validation teams for engineering product development, including lab and on-machine validation
• Knowledge of Construction Equipment such as Articulated Dump Trucks, Hydraulic Excavators, and Wheel Loaders
• Experience working on production products through design, implementation, customer rollout, and support
• Ability to decompose complex customer requirements into achievable technical requirements
• Knowledge and experience with Autonomous Systems
• Experience with systems integration over CAN and Ethernet

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience.
