Systems Engineer 2, Technical Solutions (US-East)

About the role

Technical Solutions Operations (“TSO”) manages the full lifecycle of enterprise platforms and internal tools that support the operations of the Technical Solutions team at Datadog. We are seeking a Systems Engineer to own and improve these systems.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise systems through their full lifecycle, from understanding business processes to implementing solutions and monitoring performance.
• Engineer solutions that create leverage, including building and evolving enterprise systems, integrations, automations, and internal tools.
• Contribute to the Datadog codebase when necessary, collaborating with Engineering teams to build and ship capabilities.
• Solve business problems, not just technical ones, by partnering with TS leaders to identify and implement solutions.
• Monitor, maintain, and iterate on systems in production, diagnosing issues before they affect others.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with enterprise platforms and production software, including administration, extension, and integration of systems like Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira, or similar.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript, with a preference for being a polyglot.
• Experience working across the stack, from backend services to frontend development, and setting up CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated fluency with AI coding tools such as Copilot, Claude, or similar, and experience building AI-powered features.
• Systems thinking, designing reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions that integrate with multiple systems.
• Experience with technical support tooling or customer-facing business systems, and familiarity with high-growth B2B SaaS environments.

Qualifications

• Fluency with AI coding tools, including LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and agent frameworks.
• Experience contributing to a large shared codebase with established engineering practices.
• Experience with AI detection and resolution of issues in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.

Pay

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at Datadog is: $86,000—$115,000 USD
