Technical Systems Engineer 2
About the role
The Technical Systems Engineer drives Panduit’s solution strategy across the south-central region, focusing on high-impact accounts and opportunities. Partnering with strategic and territory account managers, they identify, develop, and close deals. As the go-to technical expert, they lead solution design, provide hands-on guidance, and take ownership of technical success throughout the sales cycle.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify opportunities early by partnering closely with the account team and understanding customer business needs, seeking guidance only on select high-value deals.
- Design and architect solutions from simple to complex, collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging Professional Services when needed.
- Deliver impactful product and technical training to Account Managers, distributors, and partners, while supporting trade shows and seminars to showcase data center solutions and integrated power ecosystems.
- Build and maintain strong customer and partner relationships, owning all technical aspects of opportunities and serving as a trusted advisor to key enterprise accounts.
- Leverage CRM tools to provide clear updates, align teams, and actively drive opportunities forward.
- Translate complex customer challenges into clear, effective technical solutions that deliver real business value.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience: 8-10 years identifying and promoting network infrastructure equipment.
- Industry Knowledge: Datacenter and fiber knowledge including enterprise structure cabling, power, pathways, and cabinets. Hands-on knowledge of Panduit or competitor product.
- Sales Expertise: Experience working in sales or sales support role.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Location: Must reside in south central US; preferably Texas.
- Travel: Ability to travel, sometimes at short notice, 50% of the time.

Pay
The expected annual base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $155,000. This role qualifies for a sales incentive plan.
