Systems Engineer 1

We are looking for technical staff to provide 24x7 support to an existing Operations Center for a suite of Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) systems. The candidate will monitor ICAM systems and provide Tier 1 & Tier 2 support, including assisting customers integrating with Enterprise and IC Attribute and Authorization services. Support may involve resolving end-user access issues and aiding development teams with REST Services. The role uses JIRA for ticket management and provides support via email, chat, and phone. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker who can solve problems independently and quickly learn new technologies.

Schedule

Staff will be assigned to one of five teams providing 24x7x365 coverage. Shifts rotate over 10 weeks in five 2-week periods:

• Period 1 – Mids: 4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 4 off (12-hour shifts: 5pm-5am)
• Period 2 – Days: 3 on, 4 off, 4 on, 3 off (12-hour shifts: 5am-5pm)
• Period 3 – Days: 3 off, 4 on, 4 off, 3 on (12-hour shifts: 5am-5pm)
• Period 4 – Mids: 4 off, 3 on, 3 off, 4 on (12-hour shifts: 5pm-5am)
• Period 5 – Straights: M-F only, 8 hours per day

A shift differential is available for the Mid shift (amount TBD).

Responsibilities

• Provide online and telephone customer support for ICAM systems.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system application issues.
• Communicate complex software systems effectively to customers and development teams.
• Modify Confluence pages and write technical documentation to support customers.
• Educate and train customers on software capabilities.
• Assist in defining and understanding customer needs.
• Work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Maintain a safe work environment by completing all required training and participating in safety initiatives.
• Adhere to quality policies and ensure customer satisfaction through compliance with Amentum Quality System documents.
• Read, understand, and implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental procedures relevant to the role.

Requirements

Experience with or knowledge of:

• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC)
• Entitlements Management
• LDAP directories
• SQL and basic database querying
• RESTful services
• Ticket tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Redmine, ServiceNow)
• Linux operating systems

Minimum Requirements:

• Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Lead design and development activities, guide users in formulating requirements, and advise on alternative approaches.
• Provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design, and technology into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation and system architecture/design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessments or preparation of system engineering management plans.
• Interact with government stakeholders regarding technical considerations, problems, and conflicts.
• Ensure the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables in the Systems Engineering area.
• Communicate effectively with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. OR 5 years of additional Systems Engineering experience (totaling 12 years) in lieu of a degree.
• 7+ years of Systems Engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Pay

$157,000 - $177,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable laws or agreements.
