About the role

The Systems Development Engineer will design, develop, and maintain services, systems, and operational infrastructure that enable the delivery of hardware and firmware to AWS data centers globally. They will collaborate with cross-functional product vertical and firmware development teams to solve challenging technical problems and drive system designs that shape the future of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain services, systems, and operational infrastructure for hardware and firmware delivery to AWS data centers globally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product vertical and firmware development teams to solve technical problems and drive system designs.
  • Stand up operational infrastructure to manage services and systems at scale across multiple geographical regions.
  • Enable the seamless delivery of low-level software/firmware to meet the increasing demands of our customers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering experience
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Qualifications

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
  • Knowledge of server hardware and components

Skills

  • Systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
