Systems Architect Expert

About the role

VTG is seeking a System Architect Expert located in Chantilly, VA. Expert System Architects lead the design and development of solutions for complex application problems, including API design, data services, platform services, cloud services, and infrastructure services to meet user requirements, align with strategic goals, and conform to the Enterprise Architecture.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Government in directing system architects in the design, development, maintenance, and documentation of solution architectures, ensuring traceability to the Enterprise architecture and Enterprise requirements.
• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
• Advise the Government on proposed changes to the solutions architecture design based on analysis of requirements and new technology.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of senior, mid‑level, and junior System Architect contractors.
• Solve complex problems, lead teams, and work independently and proactively with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
• Expert experience in government or industry with Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), or Intelligence Community Program Architecture Guidance (PAG).
• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with senior executives and leaders, both within and outside the organization.
• Working knowledge of Model‑Based Systems Engineering, including processes, tools, and languages (desired).
• Federated Enterprise Architect Certifications, such as Certified Enterprise Architect from the National Defense University, College of Information and Cyberspace, Enterprise Architecture Certification.

Pay

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $110,000 – $195,000 annually. Final offers consider work experience, education, skill level, market considerations, and possible contractual requirements, which may cause an offer to fall outside this range.
