Systems Architect (Enterprise Architecture)

About the role

Join the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center (NEC) team at Fort Meade, MD as a Systems Architect. This Mission Essential role supports critical national security efforts by developing enterprise-level architecture viewpoints through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to enable modernization and evolution of NC3 capabilities. You will contribute to transforming mission and operational requirements into effective solutions, working alongside senior leaders and high-impact teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute the architecture governance framework guiding mission-critical systems evolution.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, advising senior leaders and delivering data-driven recommendations to translate strategic objectives into architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with architecture teams and the Data Governance Group to capture user requirements, shape data standards, and support a modern Digital Mission Engineering Environment.
• Design, baseline, and update enterprise architectures and detailed artifacts using digital engineering tools and libraries.
• Ingest, reformat, validate, and publish "As-Is" architecture products to ensure accurate, trusted system representations.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance (mandatory).
• BA or BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent education.
• 5+ years of experience in:
  • Establishing system information requirements.
  • Designing architecture (software, hardware, and communications) to support present and future cross-functional needs.
  • Evaluating workflows and organizational challenges, and developing corrective actions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MBSE, and collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, Confluence, Jira).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in an agile, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• The Open Group Framework (TOGAF) certification.
• DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF) certification.
• Experience with systems engineering and enterprise architecture for high-assurance communications systems.
• Background in NC3 architecture/performance analysis and engineering design.
• Knowledge of National Leadership Command Capability or Senior Leader Command, Control, and Communications Systems.
• Experience collaborating with NC3 stakeholders, including Air Force, Navy, NC3 Enterprise Center, USSTRATCOM, USCYBERCOM, Joint Staff, and OSD.

Pay

Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00. The final offer may vary based on responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market data.
