Position Description

The Systems & Controls Manager is responsible for managing all Systems & Controls operations projects across multiple customer sites within a region. This includes scoping and supporting bids, project planning, resourcing, cost, schedule, quality and risk management, and reporting, with a high emphasis on customer satisfaction. The manager directly oversees field controls technicians, providing hands‑on leadership, strategic clarity, and informed decision‑making to deliver high performance. The role collaborates with cross‑functional teams to support operational goals and meet customer requirements across multiple projects and sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee operations of field technicians across regions, projects, and sites while maintaining high quality, service levels, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and mentor field technicians, providing support, resources, and direction for their teams and projects.
  • Conduct regular site and project reviews with field technicians to monitor performance, address challenges, and implement process improvements.
  • Align with leadership on resourcing, project timelines, and strategy to ensure consistency in operational delivery.
  • Serve as regional point of contact for customer escalations, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in strategy development to enable delivery of all aspects of Controls projects.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • 10 + years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Minimum 3 years in datacenter controls, BAS & EPMS, with a focus on critical cooling controls.
  • Prior experience delivering large‑scale datacenter projects for major technology clients (highly preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience managing in‑field site operations across multiple sites and projects specific to data‑center controls installations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (highly preferred) or extensive equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Strong program‑management skills in planning, scheduling, cost, and risk management with ability to address scope variations.
  • Ability to prioritize and triage obligations effectively.
  • Proven track record with critical cooling infrastructure such as air‑cooled, water‑cooled chillers and CRAH units.
  • Professional certifications in Tridium Niagara, PMI‑PMP or CAPM (preferred).
  • Experience with controls tools from Carel, Distech, Delta, Siemens, or ALC (strongly recommended).
  • In‑depth operating knowledge of building code and OSHA safety standards.

Travel required: 30 % +.

Pay

Salary range: $98 k – $130 k, dependent on qualifications, experience, and other job‑related considerations.
