Performs advanced systems analysis and administration for TxDOT’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and information technology systems. Coordinates with procurement staff, business owners, and IT personnel to support system operations, implement enhancements, and maintain compliance with agency policies and internal controls.

About the role

  • Administers user security, access controls, role assignments, and segregation of duties (SoD) within enterprise systems.
  • Maintains and supports ERP systems, including generating reports, queries, and data extracts.
  • Assists with user training on new systems, enhancements, and business process changes.
  • Researches, analyzes, tests, and documents business processes, applications, and system software.
  • Designs, develops, tests, and maintains automated reports and dashboards.
  • Coordinates system testing, upgrades, and implementations to ensure successful deployment and user adoption.
  • Monitors technology platform enhancements and communicates impacts to stakeholders.
  • Provides strategic recommendations for system architecture, technology investments, and business process improvements.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert, advising management on technology solutions, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (relevant work experience may substitute on a year-per-year basis).
  • Systems Analyst IV: 3 years of experience in systems analysis, application support, or related work.
  • Systems Analyst V: 4 years of experience in systems analysis, application support, or related work.
  • Systems Analyst VI: 5 years of experience in systems analysis, application support, or related work.
  • Valid driver’s license (position requires driving a state vehicle).

Skills

  • Expertise in communicating technical information effectively and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in researching, analyzing, and interpreting policies, regulations, and business/technical data.
  • Skill in troubleshooting systems, scheduling/testing implementations, and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), business analysis principles, and project management practices.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and provide user training/support.
  • Advanced roles require extensive knowledge of IT/IS methodologies, database management, and strategic leadership.

Pay

  • Systems Analyst IV: $69,572 – $114,099
  • Systems Analyst V: $84,182 – $142,374
  • Systems Analyst VI: $101,860 – $172,272

Schedule

Full-time, regular (non-management) position.

Headquartered at TxDOT - Stassney Campus (Austin, TX) or any of the following 25 district offices: Abilene, Amarillo, Atlanta, Austin, Beaumont, Brownwood, Bryan, Childress, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, Laredo, Lubbock, Lufkin, Odessa, Paris, Pharr, San Angelo, San Antonio, Tyler, Waco, Wichita Falls, or Yoakum.
