Summary of Position
The Systems Analyst II is responsible for a wide range of duties that include systems development and administration, project management, reporting, analysis, and quality assurance testing. Other duties include developing or modifying system requirements and functional specifications for software applications and technology projects, including input to Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) in the Healthcare domain. Additionally, this position serves as a liaison and advisor throughout the organization. This role generally works on medium to large-scale projects of moderate to significant complexity.
Key Job Elements
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates system processes and associated IT application requirements focused on Epic Aura.
- Supports or leads the process of screening, framing, and modeling ideas for process improvements or cost savings in different applications, focused on Epic Aura.
- Develops and executes test strategies, plans, scenarios, and tracks resolution to identified defects.
- Manages and actively works on application support tickets from all stakeholders in different systems, focused on Epic Aura.
- Serves as a liaison and advisor throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Knowledge/Experience:
- 2+ years’ experience in application development, or commercial product support required. Epic Beaker or clinical lab/pathology LIS experience strongly preferred.
- Epic Bridges, Ambulatory, or other applicable Epic certification or accreditation required.
- 3+ years in the Pathology Industry preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Basic understanding of the concepts of project management according to PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) and the Project Management Institute preferred.
- Intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Ability to articulate an appropriate course of action based on reading standard project documentation (charter, work plan).
- Ability to develop and document a work plan and estimate the effort required to complete the work.
- Ability to document business and/or system analysis deliverables such as requirements, workflow diagrams, and testing documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, and developers.
- Knowledge of clinical or pathology lab workflows and Lab Information Systems or related applications.
