Systems Analyst

Location: Durham, North Carolina • Job type: Contract • Work hours: 8am to 5pm

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Analyst with 6+ years of professional experience in systems analysis, specializing in APIs, data, and distributed ecosystems for customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conducting complex system analysis, identifying improvement areas, and planning system enhancements or migrations.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth analysis of systems/products to aid in a large-scale technology migration program.
• Work with business and technology partners to identify, review, define, interpret, and clarify the scope of work in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.
• Collaborate with technology, architecture, and leadership to drive overall systems analysis with future vision, considering enterprise standards and requirements.
• Engage in collaborative planning with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Perform analysis across teams, including feasibility studies, risk assessment, dependencies, and integration points among systems/subsystems (Producers, Consumers, APIs, Data).
• Understand available APIs/contracts and other data sources to determine optimal integration methods.
• Develop comprehensive documentation of systems architecture and operational workflows for clarity and accessibility.
• Refine high-level business requirements into technical blueprints.
• Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions on capabilities, data management practices, and cloud strategies to enhance team readiness.
• Participate in the review and validation of Quality Assurance test plans to ensure requirements are met.
• Contribute to tools and methodologies for efficient analysis and documentation.
• Recommend changes to existing systems design to meet requirements and propose designs for new systems based on requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in systems analysis, with expertise in APIs, data, and distributed ecosystems, particularly in customer-facing applications.
• Proven track record in conducting complex system analysis, identifying key areas for improvement, and planning system enhancements or migrations.
• Strong understanding of data management and data analysis concepts, including proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and databases.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, adept at working with cross-functional teams and articulating technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Knowledge of capability modeling to align with enterprise blueprints.

Qualifications

• Professional certifications in Project Management.
• Experience leading modernization and greenfield projects.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
• Experience in Financial Services institutions.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns, including pub/sub, event-driven/streaming, and APIs.

Pay

$58 - $59 per hour
