About the Role
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys problem solving, customer service, software troubleshooting, account management, and application/form development. The ideal candidate will have experience with PointClickCare (PCC) or another electronic health record (EHR) system. This is a full-time position with an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Apply analysis techniques to both internal and third-party software systems to ensure the design and functionality meet clinical and business requirements.
- Work with users to determine required forms/assessments and build them using internal application tools.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to study processes and identify where new processes or modifications are needed, then implement these changes in the software design and configuration.
- Design and build new processes, create/revise forms and assessments, redesign security infrastructure, and configure software elements.
- Determine appropriate hardware and software tools required for business needs.
- Analyze software problems and develop solutions in collaboration with users.
- Train users on software functionality.
- Resolve critical problems in production applications, systems software, and supporting environments.
- Design system workflows to support new requirements and work with senior systems analysts to develop/redesign functionality.
- Test new or enhanced functionality and apply software updates.
- Design reports and maintain expertise in current application software and hardware technologies.
- Provide after-hours support for on-call and regular maintenance.
- Consult with users to identify needs and develop efficient workflow processes for electronic health record capture and storage.
- Evaluate and recommend computer systems as needed.
- Research commercially available software to meet organizational needs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and requirements.
- Maintain acceptable standards of workplace conduct and handle stress effectively.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, preferably in computer science.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare or IT support preferred.
- Advanced keyboarding skills.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft SQL is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret and understand federal and state regulations.
Special Working Conditions
- Subject to inside environmental conditions with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- May be called upon to assist other departments in declared emergency situations.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
- Close visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminals, extensive reading, and visual inspection involving small details.
- May need to stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, reach, and walk for long distances or between work sites.
- Hearing ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication.
Supervision
Receives direction from the Information Systems Manager. Does not provide supervision to others.
