About the role
We CGI is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join our Technology organization. This role is ideal for a strategic, digitally savvy problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working at the intersection of business needs, technology modernization, and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, and document end to end system interactions across multiple applications and services
- Develop detailed solution requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and data mapping for moderate to complex systems
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Support modernization initiatives, including migration to new platforms, services, and integration patterns
- Use SQL to analyze data, validate logic, and support troubleshooting
- Interpret code and technical architecture to understand system behavior and business logic
- Produce business flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and system interaction documentation
- Partner with product owners, architects, business analysts, and engineering teams to define and refine requirements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness
- Cook up release activities and ensure smooth deployment of new features and enhancements
- Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend long-term fixes
- Write Splunk queries and build dashboards/alerts to monitor system health
- Support continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and operational processes
- Apply Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices using Gherkin/Cucumber where applicable
Requirements
- At least 6+ years of professional experience as a Systems Analyst supporting software applications or platforms
- Strong background in requirements analysis, system design, and documentation for complex systems
- Hands-on experience with SQL, APIs, REST/SOAP services, and data integration
- Proven experience working in Agile environments
- Proficiency with Scrum tools (Jira preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience supporting production systems, including incident analysis and monitoring
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture concepts
- Experience with platform modernization or cloud native transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks (Gherkin/Cucumber)
- Ability to interpret code (any language) to understand business logic
- Experience working in insurance or financial services domain
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $69,200.00 - $153,300.00.
