Systems Administrator (Windows)
About the role
Astrion is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Windows Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and secure NSWCDD’s enterprise networks and software systems. In this role, you will perform full-lifecycle administration, including hardware/software installation, configuration, and performance tuning across diverse operating environments. You will also support network security operations, analyze vulnerabilities, develop system specifications, and assist with procurement-related market research to ensure our infrastructure meets federal and Department of War guidelines.
This position is located in Dahlgren, Virginia, and requires a Top Secret clearance with less than 10% travel. The salary range is $100,000 to $110,700.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing NSWCDD’s enterprise networks and software systems, including performing full-lifecycle administration, supporting network security operations, analyzing vulnerabilities, developing system specifications, and assisting with procurement-related market research.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of professional experience in relation to Windows system administration of networks and software systems
- Experience in system backup/recovery, basic software management, security and library management, installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems and COTS software, operating computer systems in different operating environments, sizing, performance, tuning, hardware/software /network trouble shooting and resource allocation
- Experience in maintaining proficiency in major network security tools such as firewalls
- Experience developing system specifications and performing market research procurement tasks
- Qualified experience with different network protocols including TCP/IP
- Qualified experience of computing and networking vulnerabilities and the latest detect methods
- Designated as IAT II level with a T5 investigation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems (preferred)
- CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, or CCNA (preferred)
