Core Responsibilities
- Maintain data files and control procedures for networked desktop and server-connected systems.
- Ensure system security and data integrity through user account, password, and access management.
- Perform and verify daily system backups, execute file restores, and maintain backup media inventories.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software across UNIX/Linux, Windows, and macOS platforms.
- Triage, escalate, track, and resolve user support tickets using enterprise ticketing systems.
- Aid with vulnerability scanning, patch management, and remediation efforts.
- Support asset tracking and inventory management using property management and tracking tools.
- Maintain hardware, software, and configuration databases and supporting technical documentation.
- Perform media sanitization and assist with IT equipment disposal processes.
- Generate reports on system health, backup status, inventory, and open service requests.
- Participate in on-call support rotations and assist with after-hours operational support.
- Support compliance with Federal cybersecurity policies including FISMA and NIST requirements.
- Provide audio/visual and video teleconference (VTC) setup and support services as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of hands-on systems administration experience in a networked enterprise environment.
- Experience with macOS administration, Jamf Pro, and Apple Business Manager.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience managing user accounts, access controls, and password administration.
- Experience performing system backups, restores, and data integrity verification.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and manage assigned priorities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.
- U.S. Citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with BigFix, PDQ Suite, Graylog, and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Experience with Druva or comparable enterprise backup solutions.
- Knowledge of Federal cybersecurity frameworks including FISMA, NIST 800-53, and RMF.
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning tools and remediation workflows.
- Experience supporting scientific research or research computing environments.
- Active Directory administration experience.
- CompTIA Security+, Linux+, or equivalent technical certifications.
