About the role
The Systems Administrator supports applications, services, and servers at the University of Massachusetts Global. This position is responsible for setting up, installing, configuring, upgrading, and evaluating these components for customer use. The role also involves providing technical, instructional, and administrative support to the UMass Global constituencies.
Responsibilities
- Manage application and server backups across the enterprise and cloud (AWS and Azure)
- Diagnose, replace, upgrade, and repair applications, services, and servers for Windows and Linux
- Install new, upgrade existing, and troubleshoot application, service, or server related issues
- Use and maintain tools such as Azure Update Manager to manage operating system patching, and enterprise services
- Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for reporting and system automation
- Handle technical inventories, shipping logistics, and equipment organization
- Create and maintain training documentation for team members supporting applications and services
- Continuously assess all documented processes for improvements
- Provide high quality support to university customers
- Work with teams and team members to provide our customers an excellent experience
Requirements
- 3+ years of application, server maintenance experience, supporting service desk staff using enterprise tools
- Desired Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or Business Administration and/or relevant experience
- Technical Certifications
- Prior experience providing support in an academic environment

Pay
$32.00 - $43.00 per hour
Schedule
This position is required to work between 8am to 5pm Pacific Time.
