About the role
University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is currently looking for a Systems Administrator for our Tempe, AZ location.
Responsibilities
- Work on helpdesk tickets and provides quality customer service to staff and clients.
- Design, install, configure, and test Microsoft Windows Server OSs with all roles-features.
- Configure, monitor, and resolve issues on current versions of Windows Server, along with its various roles, such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and others.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft Windows server operating systems and applications and other systems as appropriate, and will recognize and troubleshoot problems with server hardware and applications software.
- Create and maintain VMware hosts and guest operating systems.
- Diagnose, recognize and troubleshoot problems with server hardware and applications software.
- Configure and maintain Veeam backups.
- Maintain intranet site utilizing most recent technologies.
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
- Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records.
- Research new technology and implement or recommend its implementation.
- Establishing and documenting standards and procedures, maintaining inventory of technological devices, working with outside vendors, and maintaining backup systems.
- Work on helpdesk tickets and provides quality customer service to staff and clients.
- Perform off-hours work as required for project work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum 4 year’s experience in server-domain system management supporting 200+ users (5 year’s experience preferred).
- Experience with scripting or computer developing/programming desired.
- Microsoft Certifications preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management.
- Able to organize special programs for IT Department.
- Expert level with Windows 2016 and 2019 is a must.
- Experience with VMware a must.
