Systems Administrator

About the role

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure at Wallops Island, VA. This includes managing servers, network equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of all systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain server environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, monitoring system performance, and addressing security concerns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and systems.
• Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot issues related to computer hardware and software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with cloud services and platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies.
• Ability to work flexible hours to support 24/7 operations.

Pay
