Open Systems Technologies Corporation is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a high-performing Agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. This role supports a highly complex, fast-paced program with geographically distributed systems.
About the Role
The selected candidate will perform daily system administration and O&M support activities for a complex network environment, including sustainment of existing computing and network systems at various locations. A key focus is the setup and maintenance of an off-site location. This role requires an energetic, adaptable individual with strong troubleshooting skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple air-gapped systems.
Responsibilities
- Install applications, administer systems and processes, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure server and desktop configurations are optimized and running efficiently.
- Perform security management and application performance optimization.
- Administer and sustain a web-based application for storing, sharing, and distributing information.
- Create and maintain complex server enclaves, including analyzing system scanning reports, patching, certificate renewals, vulnerability management assessments, and Active Directory configurations.
- Identify and correct hardware and software issues.
- Respond to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems, and develop re-work solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation of complex server/network environments for incident resolution.
- Communicate with users and external support personnel regarding system outages, upgrades, and resolution options.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical field, plus at least 8 years of relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for a degree).
- Experience as a systems administrator providing direct support to end users and technical staff (developers, testers, engineers, etc.).
- Proficiency with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory.
- Experience with software/hardware deployment, patches, operating systems, and basic system backup and restore functions.
- Familiarity with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, and Nessus.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of Red Hat and VMWare.
- Solid understanding of advanced security protocols and standards.
- Experience with Client and Server virtualization environments.
- Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and reimaging hardware.
- Solid understanding of information security principles and practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to support occasional day or short-duration travel.
- Must hold an active clearance with the MD Customer, including an FS poly (last poly must be within the last 6 years).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with SQL Server.
- SALT and Python scripting experience.
- Experience supporting a software configuration management and development environment.
- Experience working in an Agile Development Environment or on an Agile Team.
- Knowledge of PKI systems using HSMs to validate keys and NTP for synchronization.
- Knowledge of PowerShell and PowerCLI.
- Experience documenting and providing information for security accreditation and certification.
