Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide Network and Computer Systems Administration support to include installation, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrading, maintaining, and replacing or removing hardware and software components.
- Perform and support installs, configurations, updates, and troubleshooting on workstations, servers, network, and virtualized infrastructure to include VMWare, Cisco, Windows, Linux, and other approved operating systems, applications, and software.
- Perform the addition, relocation, or removal of applications.
- Administer server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, backups, messaging, perform systems monitoring, and implement STIGs.
- Provide consultation on network, application, and customer service issues to support computer systems' security and sustainability.
- Maintain baseline system security according to organizational policies.
- Troubleshoot, install computers, and connect software or hardware to the network accordance with industry standards and SOPs designed and approved by Government personnel.
- Receive work assignments and report in-progress and completed work via a web-based application provided by the Government.
- Provide Systems Administration tasks at the level of the Network and Computer Systems Administrator.
- Work in a team environment with the network operations team to collaborate and accomplish the tasks set forth.
- Support DRMO of obsolete or excess equipment as directed by Network Operations such as preparing equipment for DRMO (e.g., declassifying, hard drive destruction, etc.), moving equipment to DRMO, and administrative support of required documents for DRMO.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Information Systems Management/Information Assurance/Information Technology/Computer Science or 4 extra years experience in lieu of degree.
- IAT level II or level III (depending on role) compliant certification.
- Jr. Level: 0 - 3 years experience
- Mid. Level: 3 - 9 years experience
- Sr. Level: 9 or more years experience
- Experience with configuration of VMWare products, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and administrative management tools.
- Capable of implementation and analysis of DoD IT requirements including STIGs, Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, and prior work experience with the DoD networks.
- Workstation and server administration knowledge and experience.
Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience
- Intermediate level certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Associate, VMware Certified Technical Associate, and Red Hat Certified System Administrator).
- Advanced certifications (CCNA, RHCE, MCSE, VMWare, etc.).
- Experience with DoD RMF and DoD networks.
