System Administrator Position Summary

The System Administrator supports the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI, focusing on NMCI Enterprise Tool (NET) operations. Duties include tracking, ordering, managing, and training related to NMCI hardware and software assets.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate NMCI asset orders with NUWCDIVNPT command NMCI POCs
  • Perform asset management and reporting for deployed NMCI assets
  • Reconcile assets using the NET
  • Process Move, Add, Change (MAC) submissions on new and existing NMCI assets
  • Track open MAC requests and facilitate MAC completion using NET tools
  • Compile NMCI cost and technical data from NET
  • Analyze data for current and future requirements
  • Summarize data and analysis in a report addressing GFI requests
  • Provide life-cycle management for NMCI software
  • Manage license expiration dates and submit MAC requests for license renewal and changes
  • Cover assets and peripherals availability, validate scheduling, and perform asset reconciliation upon completion of asset replacement
  • Resolve service request issues, escalating unresolved cases to ACTR and tracking NMCI trouble tickets
  • Provide NMCI-related IT/IA training on enterprise systems

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering
  • CompTIA Cloud+ OR CompTIA Security+

Physical Demands and Expectations

  • Regular physical activity: walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting up to 30 pounds, standing
  • Occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance
  • Use phone and computer systems, copier, fax, and other office equipment
