Systems Administrator
About the role
Leidos is seeking a System Administrator to be part of a team responsible for the implementation of quick turnaround desktop, video, and voice hardware and software requirements. The position requires excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. The candidate must be able to work in a high‑energy environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
- Perform technical assessment of customer‑defined requirements.
- Design and develop technical modifications or reconfigurations interfacing with customers and technical team members.
- Perform switch port analysis, availability, and enable port(s) following all port security protocols.
- Optimize and maintain workstations and virtual environments.
- Provide updates to engineering designs and technical documentation.
- Support site expansions collaboratively with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) by adding new desktop equipment or performing recaps/upgrades to existing equipment.
- Review technical design documentation to integrate new equipment for site expansions.
- Conduct technical site surveys to assess expansion needs and implement optimal solutions.
- Review current site network infrastructure baseline to proactively verify feasibility of expansion requirements.
- Ensure adherence to project procedures and security guidelines when providing remote and site support services to external partners.
- Develop and implement repeatable system installation and test procedures.
- Travel: may require occasional travel throughout the WMA or continental U.S.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Address and resolve technical problems of moderate complexity relating to installation of hardware, peripheral devices, and network connectivity.
- Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot desktop and peripheral hardware devices (workstations, monitors, VoIP phones, printers, desktop video teleconferencing equipment) on‑site and off‑site.
- Perform software installations and troubleshoot issues.
- De‑install equipment / decommission site services.
- Hands‑on experience with physical network cable installation and management.
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to complete engineering projects with nominal direction.
- Day‑to‑day fluency using Microsoft Active Directory to manage policies and user objects.
- Experience troubleshooting, administering, and using Microsoft Windows Enterprise 10 (imaging and basic configurations).
- Ability to pass required medical and psychological screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess and maintain one of the following certifications: MTA‑IT, A+, Network+, or Security+.
Pay Range
$73,450.00 – $132,775.00
