The Systems Administrator is based in the United States and is a fully remote role. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain, support, and improve enterprise applications, servers, and infrastructure services.
- Manage application and server backups across enterprise environments and cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.
- Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot applications, services, and Windows/Linux servers.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues, including server performance, operating systems, and application-related problems.
- Manage operating system updates and patching activities using enterprise tools such as Azure Update Manager.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate processes, reporting, and system administration tasks.
- Manage cloud hosting environments, virtualization platforms, and highly available infrastructure solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, training materials, and operational procedures.
- Organize technical inventories, equipment logistics, and hardware-related processes.
- Provide responsive technical support and collaborate with internal teams to deliver excellent service.
Requirements include:
- Strong systems administration experience, technical expertise across enterprise environments, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- 3+ years of experience supporting applications, servers, and enterprise technology environments.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Azure environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop operating systems, Linux systems, and Linux shell environments such as RHEL and Bash.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and system management.
- Knowledge of server virtualization technologies and highly available/clustered environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure services, and Microsoft technology ecosystems.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, cloud systems, and enterprise applications.
- Ability to create, interpret, and maintain technical documentation and system diagrams.
- Strong understanding of IT operations, infrastructure best practices, and customer support principles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Tech certifications and experience supporting technology environments in education or mission-driven organizations are a plus.
