Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & Server Administration
- Administer, maintain, patch, and optimize on-premise Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) including provisioning, resource optimization, and monitoring.
- Maintain and support Identity lifecycle management, privileged access workflows, and access review processes.
- Support and administer Microsoft Azure services including virtual machines, storage, networking, security, and monitoring.
- Manage hybrid identity, Azure AD Connect, and synchronization processes.
- Assist in cloud resource governance, cost optimization, and policy compliance.
- Administer Microsoft 365 platform services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and security/compliance center tools.
- Deploy and manage configurations and compliance policies in Intune for workstation and mobile device management.
- Support licensing, auditing, and tenant-level configuration.
- Maintain enterprise applications running on Microsoft platforms. Perform updates, configuration, patching, and break/fix support for core server applications.
- Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery readiness for all systems.
- Operational Support & Collaboration
- Respond to escalated system issues, outages, and service requests.
- Document procedures, configurations, diagrams, and system changes.
- Work with cross-functional teams on projects, integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance windows as needed.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in system administration or infrastructure support.
- Experience with hybrid on-prem/cloud environments required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, ITIL Foundation or similar, CompTIA Network+ / Security+ (optional but valuable).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. for server and hardware installation and ability to work in datacenter/server-room environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration.
- Expertise in Active Directory, GPO design, DNS/DHCP, and domain services.
- Hands-on experience with Azure and Entra ID.
- Proficiency with M365 (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, OneDrive).
- Experience with Intune for device and application management.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls).
- Experience with backup technologies, DR concepts, and system monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with zero-trust principles and security best practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
