Systems Administrator
About the role
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure, including troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, cloud services, endpoint devices, identity management platforms, and collaboration technologies.
Responsibilities
Reliable, consistent, attendance is a requirement. This position requires punctuality and dependable attendance to meet the needs of the business, including attending and taking part in meetings and presentations.
- Endpoint & Device Management: provisions, configures, and deploys endpoint devices, maintains device lifecycle, manages device inventory and asset tracking, and supports and troubleshoots Fortinet VPN client.
- Identity & Access Management: creates, modifies, and deactivates user accounts in Active Directory / Azure AD, manages group membership, permissions, and access rights, and supports identity-related troubleshooting.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: executes onboarding processes including account creation, device provisioning, and access setup, and manages offboarding processes to ensure timely account deactivation, secure access removal, and asset recovery.
- AV & Collaboration Technology: supports conference room technologies, troubleshoots audio/video issues, and maintains equipment readiness.
- Systems Ownership & Operations: takes ownership of assigned IT systems and processes, maintains documentation for systems and standard operating procedures, and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and user experience.
- Desktop Support: provides support to users, diagnoses and resolves technical problems with desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals, and installs and configures end-user hardware and software components.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience supporting users in an enterprise environment
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 ecosystem, ticketing systems, and basic knowledge of A/V systems
- Understanding of role-based access control and authentication methods
- Familiarity with the fundamental principles of ITIL/SLA and Windows desktop operating systems
Qualifications
- Microsoft Windows Desktop Environment certification preferred
- Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Environment certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and insurance

Starting Pay: $65,000 - $81,250

Schedule
Travel is required for this position, including up to 10% of the time, on a domestic basis within our 18-county service area. This role supports hours of operations at the Houston Food Bank facilities, as necessary, and may require flexibility.
