About the role
The Systems Administrator I provides operational support for Diamondback's enterprise infrastructure environment, including servers, identity services, cloud platforms, and related technologies. This role is responsible for maintaining system reliability, security, and performance while supporting infrastructure projects, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with IT teams to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Enterprise Linux environments
- Support core infrastructure services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery solutions
- Support Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and related cloud technologies
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security while identifying and resolving infrastructure issues
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, deployments, patching, and system lifecycle management activities
- Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to support business applications and technology initiatives
- Assist with automation and operational improvements using scripting tools such as PowerShell
- Provide technical support and cross-functional troubleshooting assistance across the IT organization as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience supporting Windows Server and Enterprise Linux operating systems
- Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, or similar infrastructure services
- Basic understanding of virtualization, cloud technologies, backup and recovery, and networking concepts
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work, adapt to changing business needs, and work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration
- 1+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a related technical role
- Experience with PowerShell or other infrastructure automation tools
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements, ITIL practices, and service delivery concepts
- Experience in the oil and gas industry
