Systems Administrator

Your combination of people skills and system administrator knowledge makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. Use those skills to improve the technology supporting national security. As a system administrator on our team, you’ll ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available. You’ll help clients overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. Your knowledge will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a critical network. Your communication skills will come in handy as you turn metrics into information and articulate their meaning. We focus on growing as a team, so we’ll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together.

Responsibilities

• Ensure infrastructure functionality and availability

• Automate deployments and optimize system operations and resource utilization
• Recommend process improvements

Requirements

• Experience in a System Administration or System Engineering role
• Experience installing or configuring devices, applications, and security tools
• Experience troubleshooting network infrastructure
• Knowledge of optimizing system operations and resource utilization
• Ability to recommend process improvements
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
• HS diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Linux servers, including operating systems and virtualized networks
• Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure
• Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework
• Experience with Linux, Unix, and SQL
• Experience creating system and network diagrams
• Knowledge of different layers of the technology stack, including network, application frameworks, database systems, and vendor solutions
• Ability to use automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code to manage installations, pipelines, and scripting
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering
• Linux or Cloud Certifications

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

• Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
