Systems Administrator
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and availability of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure. This role involves administering and maintaining servers, operating systems, and core infrastructure services, troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues, performing system updates, patching, and preventative maintenance, managing user accounts, access requests, and permissions, monitoring system performance and alerts, and supporting backup, restore, and recovery operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3 years of experience in systems administration or a related IT role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls)
- Experience supporting enterprise environments and production systems
- Experience with requirements of documentation and management
Skills
- Administration of servers, endpoints, and enterprise systems
- Proficiency with Active Directory, identity management, and access controls
- Experience with virtualization and/or cloud platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware, Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of backup, monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery practices
- Working knowledge of scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
- Ability to follow, maintain, and improve technical documentation and runbooks
