Responsibilities
- Support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
- Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.
Requirements
Requires fifteen (15) years of experience as a Systems Administrator on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity and a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional Systems Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT), Level I. Security Clearance: Qualified applicants MUST HAVE ACTIVE TS/SCI WITH POLY.
Qualifications
Expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have deep knowledge of project management. Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs or systems. Typically Requires A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Previously part of a leading Fortune 100 company and headquartered in Dulles, VA; Nightwing became independent in 2024 but continues to support the nation’s most mission impactful initiatives.
Skills
Expertise in UNIX and Windows operating systems, troubleshooting, network components, and implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Experience in managing IT system infrastructure and processes. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with users and agency management.

Pay
The salary associated with this position ($122,000 - $253,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise.
