Systems Administration Senior Associate
This role is remote but must be willing to work 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
About the role
The Senior Associate, Systems Administrator is responsible for administration of systems, software, and infrastructure resources, with a focus on cloud and on-prem server environments including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code, Linux, Microsoft Server, Cloudflare, SharePoint Online, Varonis, storage administration, disaster recovery planning and testing, and enterprise email systems.
The Senior Associate provides varied support services including administration and management of the systems noted above, supporting security initiatives, troubleshooting systems, managing vendor relationships, renewals, and technical assessments, creating work documentation, preparing reports, analyzing data and metrics, presenting findings, and providing administrative and project support.
Responsibilities

- Create and manage policies, practices, standards, and procedures related to BAYADA IT systems and services.
- Provide day-to-day operational management support of routine work plans or special projects.
- Formulate strategies to ensure successful completion of routine work plans or special projects and revise information to meet changing needs.
- Coordinate logistics of change control and/or notification of incidents and events.
- Perform general and routine administration—including installation, maintenance, monitoring, configuration, recovery, and updates—across applicable technologies such as Microsoft Azure, AWS cloud infrastructure, Terraform/Infrastructure as Code, Linux servers, Microsoft Server environments, and enterprise email platforms.
- Perform research, analysis, and resolution of problems to meet established service levels and performance metrics.
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks; identify approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale.
- Serve as a primary engineer for enterprise data protection platforms—including backup, recovery, archival, and cloud/object storage solutions—monitoring backup health, troubleshooting failures, and maintaining backup infrastructure for on-premises and cloud workloads.
- Manage backup retention strategies, archival policies, immutability, and cloud backup architecture.
- Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, including multi-region recovery architecture, replication strategies, RPO/RTO planning, network failover design, and DR testing and validation.
- Lead and coordinate disaster recovery planning sessions and annual disaster recovery exercises.
- Administer cloud storage, backup, and networking services (e.g., AWS, object storage, NAS platforms, Direct Connect) supporting resiliency and recovery initiatives; participate in architecture reviews and technical assessments for cloud-based services.
- Administer network, DNS, and access-related infrastructure (e.g., Cloudflare, identity/SSO platforms) and participate in infrastructure security control reviews.
- Participate in change management, CAB reviews, and maintenance planning; develop operational procedures, technical documentation, and recovery runbooks.
- Manage vendor relationships, technical reviews, renewals, and proof-of-concept activities for infrastructure, storage, and backup platforms; gather quotes, evaluate solutions, and present recommendations to support procurement efforts.
- Maintain office and system metrics and associated reports.
- Provide backup support for routine support questions.
- Support the team (office and company) and provide backup as needed.
- Research complex information through the compilation of statistics, analysis of data, and summarization of information for review.
- Participate in special projects: prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.).
- Draft and distribute professional correspondence and announcements.
- Support annual audits and compliance reviews, as needed.
- Maintain office(s) organization charts and associated email and call lists.
- Maintain understanding of company's organizational structure, financial status, and operational goals/objectives.
- Progressively assume additional responsibilities as needed.
- Analyze and identify the resources required to complete routine work plans or special projects.
- Conduct behavior in a professional manner.
- Require on-call availability and working during non-business hours and on weekends, as needed.
- Perform related duties, or as required or requested by supervisor.
Requirements

- Four-year college degree.
- Three to five years of successful experience in a related field.
- Technical competence in two or more applicable technologies—e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Entra, Terraform, Linux, Microsoft Server, or enterprise backup/storage platform (Rubrik, Pure Storage); certifications preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Pay
Base Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year depending on qualifications. Bonus opportunity available.
Schedule
Full-time, remote role with required working hours of 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time. On-call availability and working during non-business hours and weekends may be required.
