About the Role
We are seeking a Systematic Credit Strategist to join the Systematic High Yield team within the Alpha Strategies Group. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in an established product with a proven track record of success. About the Team
The Alpha Strategies team is a multi-asset investment team managing approximately $9 billion in AUM. The team invests across credit and equities, combining fundamental research and quantitative insights.
Responsibilities
- Support the continued evolution of the strategy through collaborative effort.
- Contribute constructively to process improvements that enhance the strategy’s resilience, transparency, and scalability.
- Work closely with team members to maintain existing portfolio construction and rebalancing processes, including help resolving technical issues.
- Monitor live portfolios, analyzing behavior and holdings relative to objectives, risk budgets, and market conditions.
- Partner with centralized teams such as credit research, quantitative research, trading, risk management, and technology to ensure the strategy benefits from shared expertise across the firm.
Communication & Client Engagement
- Interest and comfort in client-facing communication is a must to help promote the product and grow assets under management.
- Serve as a credible representative of the strategy with confidence and intellectual honesty.
- Clearly and thoughtfully articulate the strategy’s philosophy, construction, and performance to institutional clients, prospects, and investment consultants.
- Help produce written marketing materials, analysis, and commentary suitable for sophisticated external audiences.
Requirements
- Demonstrated quantitative and statistical rigor including data analysis, factor research, back-testing, and performance analysis strongly preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting real-world research or optimization challenges (e.g., infeasible solutions, data issues).
- Solid understanding of fixed income analytics, spread measures, and risk attribution.
- Background in corporate credit and high yield fundamentals, with a well-developed intuition for issuers, capital structures, and credit risk.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- A collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to take ownership of work from idea generation through implementation.
- Proficiency in MATLAB required; SQL, Python, Bloomberg, Office 365.
- Willingness to travel.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years prior experience with systematic or quantitative credit strategies.
- Exposure to institutional clients, consultants, or investment committees.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Schedule
The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days working from home and three days working from the office.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $250,000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications, and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance.
