About the role

The Vice Chair of Clinical Pathology and Medical Director of Core Laboratory at Northwell Health will lead the development and implementation of innovative laboratory practices, recruit and mentor faculty, and ensure high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and mentor faculty members in pathology and laboratory medicine
• Strategically plan and oversee the operations of the laboratory
• Maintain excellence in patient care through advanced laboratory practices
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance diagnostic capabilities

Requirements

• Board-certified pathologist with at least 10 years of progressive clinical and leadership experience
• Experience in managing a large, complex laboratory environment
• Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop staff
• Knowledge of laboratory regulations and accreditation standards

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Current medical license in good standing
• Experience in academic settings preferred
