System Validation Engineer
About the role
Supermicro Computer is currently looking for a talented System Validation Engineer to partner with the Hardware Designing team to validate in-house servers and workstation platforms, troubleshoot and detect any problems in the current validation projects. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical specifications, conducting functional and compatibility testing on various operating systems like Linux and Windows, performing motherboard and hardware functional validation testing, server configuration and system performance testing, reporting hardware and software quality assurance issues into bug tracking systems, duplicating customer motherboard issues if necessary, and working with customers and product management to understand production use of the product and advanced functionality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform motherboard and server system application validation testing
- Conduct functional and compatibility testing on various operating systems such as Linux and Windows
- Perform motherboard and hardware functional validation testing
- Perform server configuration and system performance testing
- Report hardware and software quality assurance issues into bug tracking systems
- Duplicate customer motherboard issues if needed
- Work with customers and product management to understand production use of the product and advanced functionality requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's degree in CS, CE, EE or similar
- Familiar with server and computer architecture
- Basic knowledge of networking/TCPIP and Linux operation system
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4+ years of working experience in system or component testing
- Familiar with HPC, data center, networking architecture, system mechanics, etc.
- Expert technical knowledge of designing and implementing Server systems
- Benchmarking experience
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $113,000. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
