How you will contribute

As an Engineer with MTSI, you will support customers in Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) facilities. You will interact daily with program managers, other engineers, financial managers, and industry subject matter experts across multiple Services supporting Department of Defense (DoD) Services and Agencies, and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. This position is located at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

Skills

  • Experience and motivation in engineering with the necessary skills to support the DoD Anti-Tamper Executive Agent Field Program Office (ATEA FPO).
  • Supporting the ATEA FPO with tasks such as requirements identification, evaluation, testing and integration, technology and product acquisitions, and assessing acquired capabilities.
  • Understanding and applying DoD, AF, and common engineering and scientific principles, criteria, and procedures.
  • Expertise in integrated circuitry, industry standard processors, and memory chips.
  • Familiarity with methodologies for reverse engineering electronic systems and integrated circuitry.

Responsibilities

  • Translate user requirements into system requirements, design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate systems, subsystems, and equipment for deployment.
  • Support and conduct engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, lifecycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessment and scheduling trade-off studies.
  • Conduct systems analyses, including system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessment.
  • Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development, and verification of systems and equipment.
  • Review specifications, including system, system segment, and equipment specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) involved in programs.
  • Develop requirements and technology needs into action plans and policies necessary to improve and retain world-class manufacturing, operations, re-manufacturing, and de-militarization of weapon system capabilities.
  • Apply engineering principles and technical understanding of subject matter material into initial development, modifications, updates, revisions, and maintenance of technical Anti-Tamper Security Classification Guides (SCG) using technical writing skills.
  • Teach learning modules within Anti-Tamper courses to industry and Government participants, and assist in curriculum development, as required.

Qualifications

  • At least 15+ years of relevant DoD work experience (waivable with customer approval).
  • No less than three (3) years’ experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment within the last five (5) years (waivable with customer approval).
  • A BS and MS degree in Electrical, Radar, Software, Microelectronics, or Computer Engineering (waivable with customer approval).
  • An active Top Secret security clearance, based upon a Single Scope Background (SSBI/SBPR).
  • Eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) access.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Program Protection planning and implementation in weapon system programs.
  • Experience evaluating current fielded weapons systems to determine anti-tamper and reverse engineering susceptibility based on vendor design.
  • Experience identifying susceptibility of critical protected information from exploitation and reverse engineering.
  • Experience supporting development of industry and DoD standards for future weapons systems to improve resistance to reverse engineering exploitation.
  • Experience working with industry to assess tamper resistance of current weapons systems within the acquisition development cycle.
