Job Responsibilities
- Define and develop comprehensive power architectures for next-generation data center racks, PODs, and related infrastructure, considering scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
- Lead the selection and evaluation of power supply units (PSUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDUs), and other power components.
- Conduct power budget analysis, thermal modeling, and efficiency optimization for various system configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, firmware) to ensure seamless integration of power solutions.
- Develop and implement power management strategies, including dynamic power allocation and energy harvesting techniques.
- Evaluate new power technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to inform architectural decisions.
- Perform root cause analysis for power-related issues and propose effective solutions.
- Create detailed design specifications, test plans, and documentation for power architectures.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on power-related topics.
- Engage with key customers and partners to understand their power requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in power architecture design and development for data center infrastructure, servers, or high-performance computing systems.
- Deep expertise in AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion, power delivery networks (PDN), and power integrity.
- Proven experience with power supply unit (PSU) design, selection, and validation, including understanding of industry standards (e.g., 80 PLUS).
- Strong understanding of thermal management principles and their impact on power system performance and reliability.
- Familiarity with data center power distribution schemes (e.g., 48V, 380V DC) and related safety standards.
- Proficiency in power analysis tools and simulation software (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Experience with regulatory compliance for power systems (e.g., UL, CE, FCC).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
