System Performance Verification Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Define and execute verification, and testing activities to support engine aftertreatment development in vehicle and in the test cell environment
• Collaborate with Engine Integration, OBD calibration and Vehicle Integration teams to successfully integrate aftertreatment functions
• Recommend, develop, and execute continuous process improvement to improve product quality, reliability, and durability of the PACCAR engine aftertreatment system
• Complete reports and presentations to communicate findings, draw conclusions and give recommendations on the next steps
• Stay aware of new and upcoming aftertreatment technologies and testing methods
• Maintain a positive working relationship with other groups at the PACCAR Technical Center and other PACCAR divisions

Qualifications & Skills

• 3+ years of relevant engineering work experience in a related field
• B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical), Computer Science, or related discipline (M.S. preferred)
• Understanding of heavy-duty diesel emissions regulatory requirements including diagnostics
• Understanding of current diesel exhaust aftertreatment technology (DOC, DPF, SCR & DEF)
• Knowledge of engine control system strategies and how they pertain to diesel engine and aftertreatment systems
• Scripting and data analysis experience using MATLAB, Python or Minitab desired
• Experience with engine test cell/vehicle data collection, analysis and test planning is preferred
• Experience with engine calibration, data collection tools (ATI Vision/Vector Canape, Cummins Calterm/ETAS INCA & Vector CANalyzer) and engine control systems
• Self-directed; possess excellent analysis, communication, and presentation skills; must be organized and take a rigorous approach to engineering projects
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage personal workload and have the willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands
• Ability to travel up to 15%, including international travel

The salary range for the System Performance Verification Engineer is $77,700 - $116,200 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
