About the role
This position works out of our Des Plaines, IL location in the Molecular Division. Abbott Molecular is a leader in molecular diagnostics and the analysis of DNA, RNA, and proteins at the molecular level. We have an exciting opportunity for a System Engineer within our Engineering team on site in Des Plaines.
Responsibilities
- Refurbishment of high-cost parts to drive GMI savings.
- Establishment of processes and procedures to outline refurbishment activities.
- Collect, analyze, and verify data and statistically drive project selection, direction and decisions.
- Participate in reliability improvement activities within company, and vendors.
- Contribute to system level design trade off discussions with respects to reliability.
- Drive change with a focus on respect, teamwork, collaboration and commitment.
- Navigate and adhere to the AMD Quality Process for Design Changes and Improvements.

- Detail documentation of experiments, protocols and verification records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area, or Master's degree with 0-2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures.
- General understanding of business unit/group function.
- Will perform this job in a quality system environment.

Pay
The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
