Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a System Engineer to support the enhancement, sustainment, and modernization of ground-based satellite geolocation systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full engineering lifecycle—from requirements development through deployment—delivering innovative software-based capabilities that advance critical mission operations. As a mid level System Engineer you will be responsible for the following: Innovating RF signal processing applicationsFacilitating the integration of new and legacy software across a variety of hardware form factorsAnalyzing user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specificationsDeriving an understanding of stakeholder needs and essential system functions from system requirementsDeveloping a system design solution that satisfies system requirementsParticipating in producing definitions of systems or components under development that provide common reference points for hardware and software developersDeriving lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements that describe in detail the functions that a system component must fulfillEnsuring lower-level requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiableParticipating in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerationsGenerating alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions, and suggest hardware upgrade to improve system performanceAllocating real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem componentsParticipating in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycleProducing written plans that define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products are verified against their requirementsParticipating in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirement Specification, and Interface Control DocumentsDeveloping derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non-repudiation, and Availability), Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms (e.g., Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Accountability), and Security Mechanism Technology (passwords, cryptography, discretionary access control, mandatory access control, hashing, key management, etc.)Reviewing and providing input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), work packages, and the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) Position Requirements: Seven (7) years of experience as a systems engineer in medium-scale (20-100 people) or larger programs or contractsBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or universityFive (5) additional years of experience of systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degreeActive Security ClearanceExperience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools Desired Experience: INCOSE ASEP or similar systems engineering certificationProficiency with Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar SysML tools What's in It for You?
