Systems Engineer We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support a team responsible for eight products enabling and supporting I&L mission operations. This role combines systems engineering with hands-on technical and operational engineering, requiring strong requirements discipline alongside practical technical understanding. The Systems Engineer will work closely with a Tech Lead and cross-functional stakeholders to plan, define, document, and implement solutions across multiple products, including COTS and GOTS products. In addition to supporting ongoing development and integration efforts, this role will play a key part in establishing Agile practices and foundational processes that define how work is planned, executed, tested, and operationally supported. This position is well suited for someone who is comfortable operating in an environment where processes are still being defined, enjoys organizing and structuring new efforts, and can balance big-picture system thinking with day-to-day delivery. The ideal candidate brings clarity to ambiguity, drives work forward, and acts as a connective layer between business needs, technical implementation, and operational outcomes. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary Systems Engineering partner to the Tech Lead and Agile team across multiple productsLead requirements analysis, decomposition, and documentation, translating business and operational needs into clear, testable requirementsEstablish and maintain systems documentation using Confluence, including system views, workflows, interfaces, and architectural decision recordsCollaborate closely with engineering, product, and stakeholders to support new product development and enhancementsHelp define and implement team-level processes, including requirements management, change control, and traceabilitySupport integration and operational use of COTS and GOTS products, including evaluation, configuration, and sustainment considerationsCreate and manage UAT processes, including test planning, acceptance criteria, and coordination with stakeholdersParticipate in system and integration testing to ensure requirements are validated end-to-endUse JIRA to manage requirements, stories, dependencies, and acceptance criteria within Agile workflowsLeverage GitLab for collaboration with development teams, including understanding pipelines, versioning, and release workflowsAct as a bridge between business, technical, and operational perspectives to ensure scalable, sustainable solutions Required Qualifications / Must Haves Experience as a Systems Engineer in an Agile or hybrid Agile environmentStrong background in requirements analysis, documentation, and lifecycle managementExperience supporting COTS and GOTS productsTechnical fluency sufficient to collaborate deeply with developers and architects (APIs, integrations, environments, etc.)Experience working across multiple products or systems simultaneouslyHands-on experience with JIRA and ConfluenceExperience defining and supporting UAT and testing processesComfortable working in environments with evolving scope, new development, and immature processes Desired Personal Attributes Drives solutions forward rather than waiting for directionWillingness to lean into ambiguous or undefined tasksStrong sense of ownership and accountabilityAbility to bring structure and organization to new effortsComfortable balancing competing priorities while maintaining delivery momentumClear communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications Familiarity with GitLab (repositories, CI/CD concepts, release coordination)Background in operational systems engineering or production support environmentsExperience helping establish or mature Agile team practicesExperience supporting multi-product or platform-based environments What Success Looks Like Clear, actionable requirements trusted by development teams and stakeholdersWell-structured documentation that scales across the product ecosystemStrong partnership between Systems Engineering, Product, and DevelopmentRepeatable UAT and testing processes that reduce rework and delivery riskAgile practices that enable predictable and efficient delivery The estimated salary range for this position is between $140,000-$180,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package.
