System Development Engineer II, AWS ADC Monitoring & Observability

About the role

AWS CloudWatch is seeking System Development engineers to support CloudWatch Monitoring and CloudWatch Logs services in specialized security regions. This role involves working in a dynamic environment with software development teams to deliver reliable services to customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify when implementations lack high availability or contain defects; investigate systemic patterns
• Resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner
• Support the operational stability of CloudWatch and CloudWatch Logs services in ADC environments
• Work with AWS engineers to identify process automation opportunities
• Perform full-lifecycle software development with constant customer interaction to scope, design, implement, test, deliver, and operate software solutions

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Linux, networking, and cloud services fundamentals
• Strategic thinker who can simplify complex problems
• Ensure customers have an excellent experience
• Experience with Linux command line and bash or Python scripting in large-scale environments
• Solid understanding of networking and distributed systems concepts
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for technical deep-dives, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and organize complex work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 2+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• Current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance

Skills

• Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).

Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

USA, WA, Bellevue - $129,200.00 - $174,800.00 USD annually
