About the role

Build tools that automate and streamline processes to make fleet operations more efficient. Respond to large scale events involving these fleets. Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures. Serve as a mentor and resource to other engineers and assist in training new engineers. Provide first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization. Propose, drive and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability. Partner with the software development teams to support corporate infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL) using Window, Linux or Unix based operating systems and SQL Server databases. Provide support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services
  • Designing and implementing platforms to deliver provisioning using shell scripting
  • Experience with programming languages including SQL, PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python, PHP, or Ruby
  • Sustaining database servers including MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent database
  • Tracing systemic problems in a Windows, Linux, or Unix based environment
  • Providing first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization
  • Proposing, driving, and implementing technical solutions for automation, efficiency, and scalability
  • Partnering with the software development teams to support corporate infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL)
  • Providing support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers

Requirements

  • One year of experience in the job offered or as a Systems Administrator, or a related occupation
  • One year of experience in supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services
  • One year of experience in designing and implementing platforms to deliver provisioning using shell scripting
  • One year of experience with programming languages including SQL, PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python, PHP, or Ruby
  • One year of experience supporting and maintaining database servers including MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent database
  • One year of experience troubleshooting systemic problems in a Windows, Linux, or Unix based environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

Benefits

(40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $187741 - $201200)

Pay

The pay range for this position in Santa Clara, CA is $187741 - $201200 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
