AWS Hardware Engineering team creates compute and storage server designs for Amazon’s web services. The team works with leading edge technologies, influences the industry’s roadmaps, and develops new and unique solutions that are ahead of the pack. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering experience.
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience in debugging, profiling, and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
- Experience with test plan development, building the necessary test bench infrastructure, developing tests, and verifying the design.
- 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.
