About the role
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a System Administrator to support a U.S. Navy program in San Diego, CA. The team is seeking an administrator to maintain RHEL and Windows servers for a research, Development, Test, and Evaluation network.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows 11 and RHEL systems in a secure enterprise environment.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system availability.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell and Bash scripts to automate system administration tasks.
- Review and provide technical recommendations for infrastructure design and engineering initiatives.
- Harden Windows and Linux systems in compliance with DISA STIGs, IAVMs, CTOs, and security policies.
- Perform vulnerability remediation, patch management, and compliance validation.
- Support endpoint security through the implementation of security tools and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure secure and compliant configurations.
- Maintain hardware and software inventories and asset tracking records.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
- Manage equipment inventory, preparation, and shipment to remote personnel.
- Support system upgrades, technology refreshes, and infrastructure modernization efforts.
- Provide technical support and guidance while ensuring adherence to security and operational standards.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of RHEL/Windows administration experience
- IAT II certifications (one of the following): CySA+, Security+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP
- Scripting experience: Powershell, Bash
- Experience with IAVM process (STIGs and patches)
Pay
Total compensation based on experience level - $100,000-$115,000 based on experience level
