About the role
The System Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing, maintaining, and planning the future growth of the infrastructure. They also handle the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of customer devices sent in for cybersecurity testing.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless network devices, virtualization servers, etc.)
- Work with devices from a wide range of vendors
- Engage with vendors when troubleshooting client devices
- Monitor, identify, and resolve network and device issues quickly to minimize downtime
- Recommend, schedule, and perform improvements, upgrades, and repairs
- Communicate and collaborate with co-workers and management to ensure infrastructure meets business demands
- Provide routine support for in-house and remote computer systems using Windows 11 and virtualization servers
- Maintain working database or inventory of client and internal devices, IPs, and access control
- Work with internal customers to provide system solutions
- Write effective technical documentation as assigned
- Keep abreast of current technology
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Information Technology, or the equivalent in terms of education, experience and training
- Bachelors degree preferred
- At least two years computer network maintenance experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server products
- Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, Red Hat, or CentOS)
- Knowledge of networking topologies and network wiring systems
- Extensive experience utilizing several operating systems
- Certified Network Engineer or other technical certification such as CCNA or MCSE preferred
- Experience with Cisco based equipment a plus
- Experience with VMware a plus
