About the role

You will be supporting a Raytheon program in a classified environment as a Linux System Administrator in Aurora, CO or Richardson, TX. This position requires 100% onsite work and involves monitoring and supporting systems that operate 24x7, occasionally requiring work beyond standard hours. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and document issues in logging and discrepancy reporting tools. The role includes supporting system engineering groups for ongoing analysis and integration, implementing updates to meet engineering requirements, and upgrading existing COTS products. As a help desk team member, you will interact directly with customers, upholding our reputation through effective and respectful communication.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support 24x7 operational systems, including occasional after-hours work
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Accurately document issues in logging and discrepancy reporting tools
  • Support system engineering groups for ongoing analysis and integration efforts
  • Design and implement updates to satisfy requirements from engineering
  • Upgrade existing COTS products to targeted baselines
  • Serve as a help desk team member in a customer-facing environment
  • Communicate effectively with teams and customers to maintain operational excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance (required prior to start date)
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND)
  • Experience with Linux RedHat and Windows
  • Experience with virtual/cloud computing technologies such as Citrix, VMware, and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively with frequent and direct customer interaction in a real-time operational environment
  • Experience working under pressure to restore high-priority systems
  • Working experience with Cloudera
  • Ability to navigate, debug, and modify programs in an advanced programming language
  • Experience with storage products from Oracle, Dell/EMC (e.g., Isilon/PowerScale), and/or NetApp
  • Experience presenting technical information to customers, clients, and/or internal audiences
  • Working knowledge of thin-client technologies

Pay

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
