About the Role

Be a part of an Infrastructure team working both together and independently on tasks needed to support customer requirements and development team needs. We work across multiple hosting platforms (OpenStack, AWS, and VMWare), but support Linux VMs. This position allows you to learn a lot about the product as well as dive deep into areas of VM Management/DevOps that appeal to you.

Applicants who do well would have a strong background in Linux and who can bring previous relevant Sys Admin experience to the project while also maintaining a learning mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Typical Sys Admin tasks: Server Certificate lifecycle, monitoring VM health status, updating software on VMs (manually and through YUM repos), ensuring VMs satisfy the latest security requirements set by the Enterprise.
  • Monitor and manage production Linux VMs—stand-alone VMs and those integrated in a Kubernetes cluster—across multiple hosting platforms.
  • Work with customers and the development team to support product needs, ranging from trivial changes (e.g., VM name changes) to significant efforts (e.g., new cluster builds).
  • Perform DevOps tasks including running and maintaining Ansible playbooks to push out changes to VMs and monitoring Kubernetes clusters through Rancher or kubectl commands to ensure cluster nodes and pods are healthy and running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Fifteen (15) years of experience supporting projects and programs similar in scope and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong Linux skills including troubleshooting.
  • Ansible experience or exposure.
  • Experience managing and securing VMs (STE/STN).
  • Active Security+ Certification (required for all members of the infrastructure team).

Skills

  • Desired: CentOS or RHEL experience.
  • PKI Certificate/Server Certificate setup.
  • Kubernetes experience.
  • AWS Experience (e.g., EC2, RDS).
  • OpenStack exposure.
  • VMWare exposure.
  • Team player but can work on tasks independently.
  • Git experience (push, pull, commit changes to a repo).
