System Administrator II - Yuma Proving Ground, AZ

About the role

The System Administrator II position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. This position is onsite.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of Microsoft servers
• Deployment and configuration of server operating systems
• Backup systems on both classified and unclassified networks
• Maintaining over 2,000 workstations and servers using approved Army IA tools
• Testing and deploying security updates
• Developing cybersecurity reports
• Developing application installation packages
• Maintaining approved workstation image(s)
• Analyzing system logs to identify potential issues
• Tracing Windows operating system and application issues
• Performing O&M tasks in the virtual environment, Host Based Security Systems, storage systems, and Active Directory
• Executing change orders, applying updates, implementing security measures, and documenting Data Center processes and procedures
• Supporting IT projects and deployments along with Data Center operations and maintenance (O&M)
• Resolving customer service requests and incidents

Qualifications

• CompTia Security+ certification required within six (6) months of hire.
• Successful completion of approved Computing Environment (CE) training within 6 months.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or three (3) years of relevant experience in Information Assurance, CyberSecurity, or System Administration.

Physical Requirements

• Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and periodic re-screenings
• Able to work long and varied hours
• Able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned
• Able to frequently bend, squat, crouch, kneel, stand, climb, and stoop, sometimes for long periods
• Able to visually distinguish colors
• Able to lift and transport 50 lbs. unassisted
• Able to work in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit

Additional Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with server virtualization and server clustering
• Deployment, administration, and support of Linux Operating Systems
• Experience with DOD STIGS for server operating systems
• Network+ certified, or equivalent experience
