System Administrator II

Amentum is seeking a Systems Administrator to work under general supervision, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems and providing technical assistance and training to users.

Work Environment

• 24/7/365 kinetic mission set
• 12-hour shifts on-site (40 hours per week)
• Shifts rotate between days and nights
• Mission-essential position
• Must report to duty in all weather conditions and remain overnight as required

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis of desktops, servers, networks, and video systems
• Participate in the installation and administration of local systems using multiple protocols and various tools
• Write detailed technical problem reports, assist with root cause analysis, and recommend configuration and process changes
• Install, upgrade, and administer operating systems and application software in multi-user client/server environments (Windows 11 Enterprise)
• Provide technical support by responding to IT help desk issues
• Perform other related duties as directed

Requirements

• Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility or ability to obtain TS/SCI (U.S. citizenship required)
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification (must maintain)
• Trained in information assurance to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II
• 2–4 years of information technology and Windows OS experience
• Demonstrated system or network administration skills, including hardware (A+) and software
• Understanding of network topology, standards, and protocols
• Hands-on experience administering Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016/2019
• Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Current state-issued driver’s license (must maintain)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related discipline, augmented by ongoing academic/technical training and certifications specific to the work unit’s hardware/software tools

Pay

$86,000 – $90,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
